Heart To Heart

"Well, I just came back from the cutting room and I've gotta tell ya- I think we have it this time. I know there were some...  CONCERNS with some of the earlier cuts, but I really think we've got something that you girls can agree on."

"I think my main concern was that with all the humidity, everyone's hair was just...  well, it was just awful and I know I kept requesting more fog from the fog machines...

"Mm-hmm..."

"...but I think Ann was a little disappointed at how some of the shots came across... what did you say, Ann- too 'top-heavy'?"

"Abrupt."

"Abrupt- that's right. Anyway, I'm sure it's better now..."

"Well, why don't I just cue it up here and see what ya think..."

"You look pretty. You always look so pretty."

"Pay close attention to the smoke in this next shot... we used 16 fog machines to achieve the ambiance..."

"Nice..."

"I'm sorry, can we stop the tape...?"

"Is there a problem?"

"Well, it's not really a PROBLEM, per se...  I thought the lighting on my cloak could've had more of a sepia tone to it..."

"I thought we had agreed Ann was going to be in the doorway shot..."

"Her hair looked stinky in that take. I told Jerry it wouldn't be a problem for me to just fill in so we could get it done. Besides, it's like the only shot I'm in anyway..."

"Why don't we move on to the next verse...  we can always come back..."

"He totally missed that fill..."

"Quiet..."

"I'm just sayin'...  we're 'HEART'- we can get a better drummer..."

"Killer."

"Jerry, stop the tape."

"Ladies, we're never gonna get through this if we have to keep stopping..."

"I just think that having a welder appear all of a sudden doesn't make sense..."

"It makes perfect sense! Welding is rad. Kids love welding...  Nancy, who are we trying to sell records to here- boring adults who aren't impressed with welding or kids who understand and love it? We've gotta speak THEIR language."

"Okay, fine- we keep the welding scene...  jeepers. But, it's not just that... there's a problem with the choruses..."

"Jerry, I thought the choruses turned out GREAT."

"Well, it's just that every time we would go to sing the chorus, I swear someone was singing 'dove' instead of 'love'...  and it just kept throwing me off..."

"Yeah- 'dove', as in 'What About Dove'... That's the song we're doing here, right? What About Dove... I don't see the problem..."

"It's 'LOVE'- not 'DOVE'... 'What About LOVE'!  'Dove' doesn't even make any sense!"

"Okay, fine... 'LOVE'...  honest mistake. Listen, all I know is when I was writing 'These Dreams', I tried to use words that were more common and used on an everyday basis..."

"...besides, I think I only said 'dove' like, MAYBE once..."

"So, should we just scrap it and re-shoot...? You girls tell me what you want."

"Skip to Nancy's guitar solo...  I'm pretty sure that at least turned out good."

"Alright. Just give me a sec, here...  annnd... okay."

"Is this it?"

"No, it's after that..."

"Alright... just bear with me, here..."

"Keep going!

"He missed the fill again... unbelievable..."

"Shh! Here it is..."

"What the--  ?"

"Umm..."

"So, you decided to completely cut my guitar solo and splice in shots of SOME GUY and a SPROUT?!"

"Well, that wasn't just 'some guy'... that was my boss's son...  I sort of owed him a favor...  and that was actually a palm tree. The guy at the plant store assured me it would look bigger on film."

"Well, you girls talk it over and let me know what you wanna do...  I've gotta get going...  The Thompson Twins are gonna be here in an hour..."

"The Thompson Twins? Could you introduce me?"

"Listen, I think we need to have a band-meeting and reevaluate our...  SITUATION..."

"Good call, Nancy...  I just feel there's a disconnect...  I mean, some of us contribute a lot- for example, writing "These Dreams", and some of us...   wear black. Now, I'm not pointing any fingers, but..."

"Listen, I think we just need a little time apart..."

"So, then what happened, Dad???"

"Well, I was able to convince them I was their sister for a few more years until they found out I wasn't and kicked me out of the band...  I took the money I made from 'These Dreams' and bought this park."

"How come your mane was so huge back then???"

"Well, son...  it was the 80's..."

"The 80's were weird."

"Haha...  they sure were..."
